The Editing Habit

II
Woke up 0820, slept 6.20 hours. Felt somewhat tired all day long, may be, in part due to poor or unbalanced diet.

0820-0922, This period I edited daily logs.


0922-1016 am. Took a nap of 15 minutes, hoping to complete 8 hours to become more productive and then I noticed that I lack desire to sleep but just feel tired. Started to clean the house, path and breakfast. I am now ready to work. Meditate now and then do a great work. Telling the world my schedule is leverage. I can no longer do useless activities, besides I am better judge of myself when I am in front of the people. I use this leverage to get work done. I know have to come up with a method of editing, rather than edit and edit and edit and edit endlessly.

One editing thesis propounded by Mike Nappa is to edit each work on the next day before you write new work. After you complete your work, edit all in the computer and make changes.

Third, print out a copy and then edit the whole thing word by word to the end. Take notes on what needs to be done when editing, but don't immediately incorporate changes. You will use these notes to edit the work.

Fourth, print out another copy and then read it out loud. Where your mind stumbles upon, or confuses about cut them or rewrite them. Take these notes, but don't stop to edit right away. Use the notes to edit your work and now you are done.

I was combining two process that Nappa suggests to be separated: noting what needs to be edited and editing it right away.

This period I wrote the article above, but it appears I lost the track of time. Now, I shall start the computer editing of the entire book, following by print out and then out loud editing.

1100am -1200pm
I am now In the middle of the first page. 

12-12:30 pm
I am now In the middle of the second page. 

1230-1300 break
13301330 I am now in the middle of the third page. I am now writing for myself and not for others. The danger is when I try or edit for others to secure money. My work becomes poor and fails to attain its lower end. 


1330-1400
I am now in the 6th page. I noted I was not reading word by word, rather I was moving very fast. Time to stop eat something and then com back. This completes close to six hours that I was active working, took about 30 minutes break, so about 5 hours of work. 
I made a major mistake: I did not meditate 45 minutes. Energy, therefore, had not been generated to get work done. 

1500 I will be back by this time.
I made a mistake. I tried to measure my work on the basis of how many hours I clocked in, rather than the quality of the time that I clocked. in. I missed my 45 minutes of meditation early in the morning when I wake up for the purpose of working more hours. This has lowered the quality of the work that I was doing. Moreover, I feel tiredness, that I will handle now. I will meditate 45 minutes now.

1545
I meditated for about 25 minutes, and then I wanted to rest more so than continue to meditate. I rested. Now, I am fully rested and ready to work. I will see how long I can work. This approach was incorrect. I ought to choose time and then work towards it, to push myself and develop stamina to work for the purpose of producing more quality works.

1640, I did a great job. In 40 minutes I edited a page. I added something into it and removed some. I feel I did a quality work. I am not tired anymore. I think people will think you are lazy if you spend more time resting and removing tiredness, but I think they are not right. After you rest well, you can do an excellent work. They are also right in another sense, rest during the night well, and then there will be no need to rest during the day that much. Failing to rest during the night causes a desire to rest during the day. Meditation will help you remove all that may try to stop you from getting good night sleep, regardless their identity.

1720- There was a dramatic shift of energy, after I meditated and ate. Now, I am able to focus and get quality work done and I did. I will also continue to do so for another 40 minutes.
1839 I have done work too. This was thee good hours.
1839-1939 I was on a break. Watched a movie and walked around. I am now back to work.
2020  I am working yet and it is going very well.

2100 report this time.  Did work and covered half of the book, today 13 pages. I have now worked 5 more hours in addition to the five hours in the morning, that is about 10 hours.

2100-2152 worked most part of this time, even though some of this time, I did not.
2200-0000
I cooked something and then made some phone calls and so on, but I was lost basically. I browsed sites for no reason and I failed to do what I have planned. I slept on time though, but I could not sleep due to some thoughts arising from the browsing, eventually I did sleep. In the future, I shall meditate to empty myself and get good quality sleep. This ends this day.
